Blind woman sues horse stable owner

The owner of a riding stable here says he turned down two women who wanted to rent and ride horses on his trails because both women are legally blind."If they can't drive cars, they shouldn't ride horses where they have to cross creeks, make turns and steer on rough terrain," said Bill Spell, an owner of Ace Stable in north St. Louis County.

That's a really difficult situation. I love trail riding on horses, but I can't imagine doing it blind. Also, you only have so much control of the horse. What if it takes off? However, I also feel awful for the blind women for being automatically discriminated against. The owner of the stables did say many of their clients have disabilities and they accomodate them in an area, but trail rides are more difficult to control. I have a lot of mixed feelings about this article, but I think its super interesting. I guess I'd need more information to form a true opinion.
